Zach H. Shariff, PE, LEED AP - CEO

Mr. Shariff has over 25 years of experience in design, quality control, and project management of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP) and Data Telecommunication systems. His area of specialty is the design of HVAC systems including: energy management and control systems for medical facilities, data centers, corporate headquarters, educational facilities, multifamily housing, and justice facilities. Mr. Shariff's responsibilities include HVAC system selection and design, specifications, energy studies, writing design guidelines, value engineering, complete inter-discipline coordination and quality control.

Mr. Shariff has designed and retrofitted multiple projects which have included renovation of chilled and hot water systems, all air systems and glycol systems for 24/7 operations. The system upgrades have also included the incorporation of energy conservation measures into the designs which reduced the operating costs of the building MEP systems. Mr. Shariff's expertise includes high performance and sustainable building design and helping clients achieve LEED certification for their buildings.

Mr. Shariff's expertise in HVAC design and management of the complete MEP/FP/IT design process, as the Chief MEP/FP/IT engineer of multiple projects exceeding several hundred million dollars, provides the appropriate emphasis on the needs of the client and to the full design and quality management of the project.

As a principal of Allen and Shariff Corporation, Mr. Shariff is responsible for insuring that all the necessary resources required for successful design and implementation of the projects are made available to the team.

Mr. Shariff's role in the overall project is to help the client in obtaining the most cost effective building engineering systems solutions for their projects.

William Allen, PE, LEED AP - President

Mr. Allen is the President of Allen & Shariff Corporation and as one of the Principals is responsible for the overall management of projects at ASC. As Principal-in-Charge, he is ultimately responsible for the overall quality assurance of the project. He is experienced and knowledgeable in the design of the facility's overall mechanical, electrical, security, fire protection and telecommunications systems. He has a broad background and extensive experience with electrical power, lighting, and communications systems for all types of applications.

Mr. Allen has designed the electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems for new construction of base building and tenant fit-outs, as well as renovation work. Variations of project types he has designed for the public and private sectors include corporate campuses/headquarters, commercial space, educational and institutional facilities, and multi-family housing units. c

In addition to Mr. Allen's consulting work, he has served as a nuclear submarine officer in the Navy and worked with nuclear utility and aerospace companies on large projects. He retired as a Captain after 30 years in the Naval Reserve. Mr. Allen has published technical papers for the IEEE and AIAA and is author for several lighting articles in the World Book Encyclopedia.

Fredrick K. Gerheiser, PE - President

Mr. Gerheiser has over 29 years of experience in construction and facilities management in both the public and private sectors. He has directed all facets of facilities planning and management for a large campus style commercial office complex in Washington, D.C. and a large industrial complex in New Jersey that was challenged by a declining real property maintenance budget and sensitive environmental constraints. Mr. Gerheiser has also managed numerous large construction projects in the New Orleans area, and with the Navy Seabees at Naval Installations in Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Guam in the Navy's Pacific Ocean AOR. Additionally, while assigned to the Defense Nuclear Agency, Mr. Gerheiser programmed and executed construction projects in the Former Soviet Union republics of Belarus and Ukraine. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and also obtained status as a certified Acquisition Professional Community member.

Mr. Gerheiser has directed and managed Allen & Shariff's construction services program for the last nine years. Clients include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, US Dept. of Agriculture, Naval Facilities, Washington DC, Andrews Air Force Base, DC Air National Guard, General Services Administration, Quantico Marine Corps Base and various local governments including Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Prince George's County.
